BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say bomb threats emailed to three members of the Burlington City Council appear to be related to the fatal police shooting of a Burlington woman earlier this year.

The Hawk Eye reports that the emails sent Monday indirectly mention the shooting of 34-year-old Autumn Steele by Burlington Officer Jesse Hill on January 6, 2015.

No charges were filed against him, and he’s returned to duty.

The emails contain threats to blow up what’s referred to as the “city council building.”

Burlington Police Chief Doug Beaird says no arrests have been made and no credible evidence has been found to substantiate the threats. He says the FBI is helping with the investigation, which includes an effort to find the server from which the emails came.
