Shortly after power went out in thousands of homes in the Quad Cities area Sunday afternoon, December 13, 2015 the service was restored to many.

More than 3,600 customers in the Illinois Quad Cities area and more than 150 in Davenport were without power around 12:30 p.m., according to MidAmerican Energy’s outage map.

In Davenport, the outage was caused by “wildlife contact with power lines.” Restoration time had been estimated to be at 4 p.m.

Henry County was impacted the most with 1,089 reportedly in the dark. Orion also had widespread outages with 923 without electricity. There were 751 in Mercer County, 325 in Sherrard, 322 in Rock Island County, and 275 in Andover without power as well.

Right around 1 p.m. service was restored to nearly all of MidAmerican’s Illinois customers.

For customers in Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island Counties, MidAmerican Energy indicated that they did not have any estimates for when the power might be back on.
