Davenport Community School students will be dispersed among five schools for 2016-2017, if they were supposed to go to J.B. Young. The school will close at the end of of the 2015-2016 year.

Currently, the district is considering the changes to the district's boundaries, once the school closes down. Students will be transferred to one of five schools in the dist, Sudlow, Williams, Smart, Jefferson, or Madison.

Plans have been presented to try and reduce the walking distances for students, who will be walking to a school next year. There are also plans to try to reduce extra bus routes next year.

There will be a public meeting on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 about the boundary changes. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Achievement Service Center.

Wednesday, December 9, 2015, J.B. Young parents will also be able to discuss the proposed changes with district officials. Two meetings will be held. One starts at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The other one starts at 6 p.m. Both meetings will be held at J.B. Young.
