Rock Island Fire Causes $30,000 in Damage

A home in Rock Island was damaged by an overnight fire.

A home in Rock Island was damaged by an overnight fire.

It started in the 1300 block of 44th Street around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. The home is about four blocks east of Alleman High School.

Firefighters say that flames were coming from the upstairs front bedroom as they arrived on scene. One person was home at the time of the fire, and they escaped safely.

Crews from Rock Island and Moline fire departments were on scene for a few hours putting out hot spots. Rock Island Firefighters say the fire left behind about $30,000 worth of damage.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
