The search continued more than a day after a man reportedly fell into the Mississippi River near Rock Island.

A statement from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said they were continuing to search for 48-year-old Mark Bower on Monday, October 26.

The DNR indicated that the Rock Island man was reported missing by his friends when they couldn't find him aboard the boat on Saturday evening, October 24.

The 37-foot boat that Bower was on was headed toward Sunset Marina, according to the Illinois DNR.   He was last seen on that boat when they traveled passed Andalusia Island.

Crews performed surface and sonar searches in an attempt to find him.
