A 51-year-old woman from Alpha, Illinois, died of injuries she suffered when her motorcycle collided with a large SUV that was pulling a camper.
Marcia Atchison was on a Honda motorcycle that had just turned off County Road Y31 and onto eastbound E17 in Jackson County, Iowa, when the wreck happened just before 1 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015, according to a report from the Iowa State Patrol.
Atchison’s motorcycle crossed the center line, and was struck by a 2002 Ford Excursion that was westbound on E17, the report said.
Atchison died at the scene of the crash.
The SUV driver was not hurt, the report said.
