The Mississippi Valley Fair opened its gates on Tuesday, August 4, offering the traditional fried foods, rides, livestock and some daredevil entertainers.

Two entertainers at the fair, who refer to themselves as Dallas the Fire Guy and Nick Torious, attracted large audiences with their machete juggling, ladder balancing acts.

The father-son duo performed stunts that had crowds in awe, including the grand finale where Nick Torious escaped from a straightjacket that was tied together with 50-feet of chain.

The Florida-based group will perform the remainder of the week at the fair.
