I-80 westbound reopens after crash blocks traffic near Iowa City

Traffic on Interstate 80 near Coralville, Iowa, north of Iowa City, was blocked because of a crash.

The Iowa Department of Transportation said the roadway was blocked just before 9 a.m. Friday, May 22 near Exit 244.  A detour was set in place and was still in operation after 11 a.m.

detourTraffic maps showed that westbound traffic was blocked near the crash and eastbound traffic was moving slowly. Just after 10 a.m. eastbound traffic was moving normally.

According to the Eastern Iowa Fireground Photos Facebook page, the crash involved a semi and a bridge.
