Burlington Road Races kick off weekend of biking during Memorial Day holiday

Downtown Burlington is the home of the 33rd annual Snake Alley Criterium during Memorial Day weekend.

The Burlington Road Races start Friday evening, May 22, 2015.  Afterward, live music and refreshments would be available.

The Snake Alley Criterium races were set to begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23. Hundreds of athletes from all over were expected to compete for thousands of dollars worth of prizes.

Other races, including the Melon City Criterium in Muscatine and the Quad Cities Criterium in Davenport were happening throughout the weekend. Click here for the race schedules.
