The Northeast Community School District in Goose Lake, Iowa unveiled some new additions at their high school.

An open house Sunday, April 26, 2015 allowed community members to come in and see what construction crews have been working on for the last year and a half. The additions included a new gym, stem room, science rooms, locker rooms, and a concession stand.

Taxpayer money funded the additions and Principal Alicia Christiansen said parents would be happy to see the upgrades and that “every penny has been worth it” for the kids.

A few years ago, the school also added a tornado safe room which holds up  to 950 people.
