A driver in Whiteside County died Thursday, March 12, 2015 when his vehicle went off the road and hit a tree.
The driver was heading northbound on Illinois Route 84 near Schafer Road when his car went off the roadway to the east, according to a statement from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office. The mini-van then hit a tree.
According to the statement, the driver, who was not from the area, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle, authorities said.
His name is being withheld until his family is notified.
