These chilly February temperatures did not stop dozens of people from running through the streets of Davenport... in unusual running attire.

On Saturday, February 28th, 2015, the Quad City Hash House Harriers held its 5th Annual Red Dress Run.

Women and men wore red dresses to "show their spirit and draw attention to this annual fundraising event," according to a press release.

However, organizers say it's not all that strange.

"We don't just dress up in crazy clothes one day a year," said Betsy Green. " We do it at least once a week.  We have a lot of fun.  We love the Quad Cities and if we can give back and be more than just a crazy group of weirdos and show everyone that we care, then that makes us really happy."

The Red Dress Run benefits Hand-In-Hand, a non-profit organization that helps people and families with special needs in our area.

According to a press release, last year's event raised $5,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Flynn G. Schulz, a beloved "hasher" and military veteran. In 2013, almost $2,000 was raised for the American Heart Association.
