As the snow was flying, two mother eagles were laying new eggs at their nests miles apart.

ALCOA announced “Liberty” the eagle laid an egg in the tree top nest on corporate wetlands near the Mississippi River Wednesday afternoon, February 25.

And the Raptor Resource Center in Decorah says its mother eagle laid its third egg just before 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

The Raptor Resource Center says the egg is the 23rd to be laid in that nest with 20 of the eggs successfully hatched.
