A Bettendorf teacher could get $15,000 to help expand a reading program she created.
Jane Volden, a first grade teacher at Lourdes Catholic School created Voweletics in 2008. It's a reading program that focuses on vocabulary, fluency and comprehension in a fun way. It's already available online to purchase. The program's up for a grant from the Iowa Dream Big Entrepreneurial contest. That money could help them market the program to other schools.
