For some, for better or worse is just something said. Not for Janice and Larry Isaacson.

"We've had some ups and downs, but everybody does," said Larry.

"That's part of your vows when you get married, you're gonna take care of each other and that's what we've done for years," said Janice.

The Princeton, Illinois couple first said their vows 50 years ago.

"Our first wedding was him and I and two friends and that was it," said Janice.

They were planning to say their vows again this year on a Florida beach, but then Larry had to move in to Liberty Village of Princeton's rehab program.

"He has a brain tumor that we found out about a year ago, the day after Christmas," said Janice.

It is inoperable.

"It's rough," she said.

Janice told staff at Liberty Village of Princeton about her plans for the Florida wedding renewal and when they heard about it, they brought the beach wedding to them. The staff set up the community room with a beach theme and a fellow resident who is a minister offered to officiate. The Isaacson's kids, grandkids, and friends were there to see them renew their vows.

"Everything just seems to work out," said Larry.

With a surprise new ring on her finger, Janice wheeled her husband back down the aisle.

"It's very special to me because he's special to me," she said.
