In front of a group of potential voters at the Scott County Lincoln Club luncheon on January 26, 2015, former U.S. Senator and former presidential candidate Rick Santorum pitched his ideas for a 2016 Republican win.

"We have to be pro -worker," he told the crowd.

"He really talked about addressing the common people and I think that's very good. We all need to hear that," said Betty Dexter.

"Hopefully Rick Santorum, or whoever the GOP nominee is, will do a better job of explaining how Republican policies are not just good for the rich and the entrepreneurs, but good for the average worker because of the job opportunities which is created," said Lawrence Bay.

This stop was part of a five day Iowa trip for the 2012 caucus winner, that included a speech at the Freedom Summit in Des Moines,  where many potential Republican candidates spent their weekend.

"I think, at least I hope we by and large left a positive impression on the state. We worked hard, respected the people here,"said Santorum.

People, that will help him decide if he will get in the race.

"Hopefully as we look forward and test what we're talking about here that will resonate too and if it does, then we'll strongly consider going forward. If it doesn't, then we'll strongly consider not."

Potential voters in the crowd, waiting until it gets closer to 2016.

"I'm not committing to Rick Santorum by a long shot, but Rick Santorum certainly said some good things here today," said Bay.

"I haven't heard the others and so many things can happen between now and the primary and I'm not ready to commit to that, there's a lot of other good candidates," said Dexter.
