Local Illinois school districts will meet on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 to discuss how to improve public education in the state.

Schools in Henry, Stark, and Bureau Counties will meet to discuss the new blue print for public education in Illinois.  The blue print is called Vision 20/20. The vision has many ideas on how to improve public education. One idea calls for more funding for Illinois school districts.

Public schools don't know how much funding they'll receive from new lawmakers and newly elected Governor Bruce Rauner. The school districts have invited at least six area lawmakers, including State Senator Neil Anderson and State House Rep. Mike Smiddy, to take part.

School districts will get a better idea of what the future holds when Governor Rauner makes his budget speech on February 18th. Wednsday's meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Kewanee High School.
