The youngest victims of domestic violence need your help this holiday season.

On Saturday, December 13th, 2014 and Sunday, December 14th, 2014, the Davenport Police Association and Family Resources, Inc. - along with U.S. Adventure R.V. - are sponsoring their annual Domestic Violence Shelter Christmas Toy Drive.

"Since 2002, this annual event has helped countless children and families throughout the Quad City area during the Christmas season by providing Christmas presents to children living in shelters, safe houses, and those served by various programs," a press release stated.

The group is collecting new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations at NorthPark Mall near JC Penny on Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm.

"We think every kid deserves a Christmas and to have something that day that they can open up," said Tim Murphy, Treasurer of the Davenport Police Association. "It really brightens their holiday and some of the toys actually go to them as they come into the shelter throughout the year, for birthdays and things like that."

Donations can also be dropped off at additional locations, Monday through Friday, at U.S. Adventure R.V., 5120 Brady Street, and/or State Farm Insurance, 1903 Pershing Avenue.

Monetary donations are tax deductible. Checks can be made payable to Family Resources Toy Drive.
