Police say a 10-year-old girl was arrested in connection with a threat made toward teachers at an elementary school in Dixon, Illinois.

According to a statement from Dixon Police Chief Danny Langloss, a threat toward teachers at Madison School was found in the 5th grade girls’ bathroom on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.

The statement said that a 10-year-old girl was arrested and charged with criminal defacement of property in connection with the threat.

She was processed at the Dixon Police Department and released to her guardian, according to the statement. The case will be forwarded to the Lee County State’s Attorney and Juvenile Probation Department.

Langloss also said he expected charges to be filed in connection with threats made at Reagan Middle School. He did not indicate whether the incidents were connected.
