Neighbors claim they heard explosion before East Moline garage fire

A fire in East Moline left a garage destroyed and some damage to a neighboring property.

The East Moline Fire Chief said when firefighters arrived to the scene at 4th Street A Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2014, the garage was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters said while they were able to extinguish the fire, there was some minor damage to a neighboring home.

Neighbors said they heard an explosion before the fire happened, but no cause has yet been determined.

Part of 4th Street A was forced to be closed during the incident. There were no reported injuries.
