The WQAD "Score" guys give you all the information you need to know on Week 1 of the local High School football season. We discuss the non-district games for the former MAC schools, including Bettendorf vs Assumption, Thursday night. PV opens up with North Scott, and Clinton travels to Central DeWitt.
On the Illinois side, Rock Island travels to Peoria Manuel, Alleman looks for revenge against Peoria Central, and Galesburg hopes to open at Moline (pending the Strike).
In maybe the biggest game of the night, defending State Champion, Sterling Newman travels to Rockridge. The Comets will looks to avenge their only loss of 2013, which came at the hands of the Rockets in Week 1 last season. We also talk about Mercer Co hosting Elmwood-Brimfield, and the other LTC/Prairieland Conference crossover games.
