Explosion at Illinois recycling plant leaves two dead

An explosion north of St. Louis reportedly left two dead and one injured.

The explosion happened Monday morning, August 25 at the Totall Metal Recycling Plant in Granite City, Illinois, according to KTVI.

KTVI reported that a mortar shell exploded, and out of fear of the possibility of more explosions, nobody was able to get near the scene.

According to the report, two people were killed and a third person was injured and taken to the hospital.
