A crash on I-74 south of Woodhull blocked traffic in the westbound lanes for more than an hour.
A spokesperson from the Illinois State Police said a crash happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, causing a traffic block. First responders on scene were waiting for a medical helicopter to land.
News 8 crews saw a semi turned over. The driver was reportedly airlifted from the scene.
The roadway reopened around 5:45 p.m., but remained backed up. I-74 was down to one lane near the crash site.
