Skip-A-Long in Moline holds groundbreaking

With the dig of a shovel and the flick of some dirt, a QC daycare began its expansion.

The Skip-A-Long Child Development Services in Moline held its groundbreaking for the building’s expansion Monday, July 19, 2014.

The addition will include two new classrooms, allowing for the center to serve 31 more children. The center will also hire seven more staff members.

“This will be surreally helpful for our working families as we have quite a few children on our waiting list,” said Skip-A-Long CEO Marcy Mendenhall. “It’s a community need and so the board really wanted to make an opportunity for all children to have access to high quality childcare.”

The expansion is expected to be complete in October. At that point new children will be able to enroll.
