Police found a man in a ditch after he had called saying someone had shot his legs multiple times.

Lt. Bryce Schmidt from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office said a 43-year-old man called 911 around 5:30 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, saying that he had been shot in the legs and was lying in a roadside ditch.

Scott County Deputies located the injured man in the 20,000 block of 210th Street in rural Scott County.

Schmidt said the injured man had surgery and was listed in fair condition.

Now, police are on the lookout for a blue 1999 Ford Windstar minivan that they believe is connected to the incident. The vehicle has Iowa plate number "016 RIX." If you see this van you are asked to call 911.
