Two highly contested issues in Davenport were vetoed by Mayor Bill Gluba on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.

Gluba vetoed St. Ambrose University’s plans for a stadium as well as the redevelopment of the old Dock restaurant on the riverfront. This was the first time in Gluba’s seven years as mayor that he has used a veto. The surprise of the strike-downs have moved to Twitter, inspiring a hashtag called #ThingsGlubaWouldVeto.
