On the same day of the last vote for St. Ambrose University's sports stadium, Wednesday, July 9, 2014, Neighbors for Fairness member, Jim Welch, says his group has hired an attorney to potentially fight the plan.

Welch says he's had multiple conversations with Alderman Ray Ambrose, who voted against the plan on June 25. Ambrose, along with three others, voted no to the plans that night.

"I don’t see how this thing could move forward without it having a huge impact on the neighborhood,” Ambrose said on June 25. “We’ll continue to work with St. Ambrose to try and find a compromise.”

On June 25, alderman voted 6-4 to move the plans forward. Welch says he is still hopeful one of the alderman will change their vote Wednesday. He also says their attorney plans on speaking Wednesday night. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Davenport's City Hall.
