East Moline native Spike O’Dell was among ten inductees into Chicago’s new Radio Walk of Fame.

The WGN Radio Walk of Fame was unveiled at a ceremony Friday, June 27, 2014 near the entrance of Tribune Tower on Michigan Avenue.

Plaques, featuring the names of some of the most famous personalities from WGN-AM’s 90 years of broadcasting, are embedded into the sidewalk on the Walk of Fame.

“Each of WGN’s Walk of Fame inductees have touched our lives and made us better and on behalf of the people of Illinois we thank you,” said Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn.

O’Dell was a morning and afternoon show host on WGN Radio from 1987 to 2009. He hosted the morning show in KIIK 104 in Davenport between 1982 and 1987.

O’Dell, who went to United Township High School, now lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
