When Clinton Police, who were trying to serve an arrest warrant, learned that the man they sought may be armed, several nearby neighbors were forced to evacuate.

Captain William Greenwalt from the Clinton Police Department said officers were serving an arrest warrant at a home near 18th Street and 27th Avenue around 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014.  They were trying to locate 34-year-old Nicholas J. Fox who was wanted for probation violation.  Officers went inside the residence to find Fox, confirmed that he was in there, but then "learned he may be armed."

Greenwalt said they called for more assistance and evacuated nearby residents as a precaution.

Shortly after 8 p.m. Greenwalt said Fox surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody. He was taken to the Clinton County Jail.
