A water main break closed down Perry Street in downtown Davenport.

The break happened before 2 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 between River Drive and 2nd Street. Iowa American Water and Mid American Energy crews responded.

The break left a hole on Perry Street just to the east of the Radisson Hotel. Crews said the break was affecting the water pressure inside of the hotel.

However, crews did not believe they would have to shut off the water to any of the nearby businesses. Therefore, no boil order will be in effect.

Iowa American Water crews believe the break should be cleared up by noon Thursday. They also say Perry Street could reopen later Thursday evening.
