Nicholas Sheley was found guilty of the murders of four people.

Prosecutors made their closing arguments Thursday, May 29, 2014 saying Sheley left a strong trail of evidence from Illinois to Missouri in the brutal deaths of Kenneth Ulve, Brock Branson, Kilynna Blake, and her two-year-old son, Dayan.

A pathologist who testified during the trial said their fatal injuries were caused by a hammer.

Sheley had been accused of killing the four people in a Rock Falls apartment, during a two-date killing spree in Illinois and Missouri.

The jury deliberated for about three-and-a-half hours and found Sheley guilty of the four murders.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Branson, Ulve and Blake families, as they have been so many times, over the last six years. Maybe for just a minute this day they can look to the skies and almost touch their loved ones and say “Yes!”. They will never have closure but there must be some kind of emotion knowing the man, or whatever he is, has been found guilty of the massacre of their families. Along with the four other people he murdered only two remain where yet another trial must be held. So to Missouri this despicable, less than human, creep goes where the death penalty is alive and well. Hopefully we won’t have to ever look at the murderer’s picture or name in the paper again. Let us hear, see and remember those who left us way too soon and forget the one who chose to kill them.
