Area flood warnings continue

Several flood warnings are still in affect along the Mississippi River. Flooding caused crews to close a portion of River Drive in Moline.

Several flood warnings continue to be in effect.

The Mississippi River was well out of its banks at Rock Island Lock and Dam 15. The National Weather Service said the river was at 15.7 feet and falling Sunday night. The flood stage there is 15 feet. The water was expected to fall below flood stage Wednesday morning.

The Mississippi River at Illinois City Lock and Dam 16 was at 15.3 feet and falling Sunday evening.  The flood stage there is 15 feet.  It’s expected to fall below flood stage Monday. Residents on Smith’s Island are impacted at 13 feet.

The Mississippi River at Gladstone Lock and Dam 18 was more than 2 feet above its 10 foot flood stage on Sunday evening.  The NWS expected the river to fall below flood stage on Sunday.

Moderate flooding was occurring at the Mississippi River at Burlington, where the water was about 2 feet above its 15 foot flood stage. Water was expected to fall to 16.5 Tuesday morning.  At 17 feet water impacts the Port of Burlington parking lot.

Gregory Landing along the Mississippi River was at its 15 foot flood stage Sunday evening. The NWS said the water would fall below flood stage Monday.

The Mississippi River at Keithsburg was nearly a-foot-and-a-half over its 14 foot flood stage Sunday evening. The water was expected to fall below flood stage Friday morning.  At 14 feet water impacts low lying areas in Oquawka.

The Mississippi River at Camanche was at 17.3 feet and falling Sunday evening. The flood stage there is 17 feet. It was expected to fall below flood stage Monday evening. At 17 feet water affects low-lying residences at Albany.

River levels at Muscatine were more than a foot over the 16 foot flood stage Sunday morning. The water was at 16.9 feet and steady and minor flooding was expected to continue. The NWS said the river level should fall below flood stage Wednesday morning.  At 16 feet water impacts the lower portion of the Riverside Park parking lot.

New Boston Lock and Dam 17 was nearly a foot-and-a-half over its 15 foot flood stage along the Mississippi River Sunday evening. The NWS said moderate flooding was expected to continue until the water fell below flood stage Thursday.
