Morrison Police are on the lookout for bicycle riders who are being safe.

Morrison Police Chief Brian Melton said as part of the Helmet Incentive Program officers are promoting bike safety  by handing out ice cream coupons to kids they see wearing their helmets while riding.

Melton said kids between the ages of 3 and 16 will get a coupon to the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill in Morrison if an officer sees them wearing their helmets.

“We hope this program encourages our youth to wear their helmets and practice bicycle safety when riding,” Melton said.

The Helmet Incentive Program began Friday, May 16, 2014 and lasts through the summer months.
