Local women report being grabbed while jogging

Police say victims have given similar suspect descriptions in at least five incidents of women being grabbed during a morning jog.

Police say victims have given similar suspect descriptions in at least five incidents of women being grabbed during a morning jog.

Each of the attacks, reported over the past year, have happened between 8 and 8:30 a.m.

The victims gave similar suspect descriptions, saying they were grabbed by a white man with a thin build and a goatee.  He is about 5-feet 8-inches tall and 25 to 30 years old.  He usually wears jeans and a hooded sweatshirt, hooded jacket or some type of hat.  Two victims said the man wore "skater" shoes.  One woman said the man had shoulder-length brown hair.

The first attack was reported Monday, April 29, 2013 in the 4900 block of Archer Drive in East Moline.  A woman jogging northbound on the sidewalk said the suspect grabbed her breast and buttocks after approaching her from behind.

The second attack was reported by a woman who was running near 31st Street and 14th Avenue in Rock Island Friday, August 23, 2013.  The victim said a man in his mid- to late-twenties grabbed her buttocks.  She said the man wore a black tee shirt, black baggy pants, skater shoes and a maroon bandana.  The man had shoulder-length brown hair.

The third attack involved a woman who was out for a morning run in the 3400 block of 51st Street in Moline on Saturday, September 21, 2013, when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks.

Another woman reported a similar attack when she was jogging Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the 1400 block of 12th Street in Moline.  She, too, said the man approached from behind and grabbed her buttocks.

In the most recent report. a woman was jogging southbound on the sidewalk in the 3300 block of Kennedy Drive in East Moline Monday, April 21, 2014, when a man grabbed her buttocks.
