Drivers can expect delays and lane closures on Interstate 74 on the north side of Davenport while crews replace the 67th Street overpass.
Weather permitting, work to replace the East 67th Street overpass over I-74 was scheduled to begin Monday, April 14, 2014. The bridge and part of East 67th Street will be replaced.
The Iowa Department of Transportation indicated the work would take about a year-and-a-half to complete.
Motorists can expect various, intermittent lane closures in both directions of I-74 between I-80 (exit 298) and 53rd Street during evening hours. Most of the closures were expected to happen Sunday evenings between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Mondays, and between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next morning Monday through Thursday nights.
The project was expected to be completed by November 15, 2015 according to a statement from the Iowa DOT.
