Police capture woman accused of ramming Moline Police car

The woman accused of escaping by ramming a patrol car during a Moline shoplifting bust has been captured.

Police said Jalissa Shantil March, 25, was driving when she rammed a squad car and knocked a policeman down with her car door as investigators were busting several people for shoplifting at SouthPark Mall.

March was allegedly involved in a shoplifting ring in which several teens were working with adults to steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from local retailers.

Police dash camera video (below) shows March making her getaway from the mall during the March 18, 2014 incident, according to Moline Police.

Jail records show March was arrested by the Scott County Sheriff’s Department just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20.   March was charged with felony assault while displaying a weapon as well as misdemeanor counts of driving while barred, driving under suspension and driving while barred.

In addition to the Scott County charges, March was still wanted in Rock Island County in connection with the SouthPark Mall incident.  She was expected to face felony charges in Rock Island County.

March was held without bond in the Scott County Jail.
