The Elmore Marketplace in north Davenport is about to have another store. The Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) opens up on Thursday, March 20th, 2014.

The store is right next to the Pier 1 Imports store, which opened up in February of this year. Workers have put the finishing touches on the DSW over the past month. Crews have tried to get as much work done as possible, with the recent cold temperatures. Elmore Marketplace is located between Kimberly Road and 53rd Street on Elmore Avenue.

The DSW is an 18,000 square foot building. Managers say there will be 23,000 shoes inside the new store. DSW is the fourth building to open at the new development. Carter's Babies and Kids also opened up this month. The very first store to open up was Beauty Brands.

This is the first DSW store to ever open in the Quad City area. Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba will be at a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday around 9:30 a.m.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It will also be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Heart of America CEO Mike Whalen is developing the site.
