There were several accidents in and around the Quad Cities on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 due to the early morning snow.

News 8 viewers sent us pictures of two accidents outside the metro area Wednesday. One accident involved a jackknifed semi along I-80 in Illinois. Another News 8 viewer reported in an overturned vehicle on Route 81 near Kewanee.

Conditions were also slick closer to the metro area. Drivers were taking it slower than normal on the Milan Beltway near Camden Park. Both state and Milan snow plows were out in full force treating the streets in that area. City officials say there was also a wreck at U.S. 67 and the Milan Beltway around 8:30 a.m. Officials say that one person was taken to the hospital.

On Wednesday morning, officers with the Moline Police Department said they had not seen any major wrecks in the City. The Moline Public Works Department will have 15 snow plows out on the roads both Wednesday afternoon and evening.
