Police say an Amboy, Illinois man tried to bribe a witness in a sexual abuse trial.
Nikos Kastrinsios, 41, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in 2011 in Dixon, lllinois. Kastrinsios, former owner of The One and Only Nikos’ restaurant in Dixon, was accused of having sexual contact with a boy under the age of 17. Court records show Kastrinsios was also charged with possession of child pornography.
Dixon Police Chief Danny Langloss said Kastrinsios was arrested at about 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2014 after he allegedly tried to bribe a witness in connection with the case.
Kastrinsios is accused of contacting a witness in late February 2014, and “offer(ing) the witness an undisclosed amount of United Stated currency in order for the witness not to testify in the pending criminal trial against Kastrinsios,” Langloss said.
Kastrinsios was arrested in the Amboy downtown business district. He was held in the Lee County Jail. His bond had not yet been set.
