Davenport’s second Snow Emergency declared for downtown, Hilltop areas

A second snow emergency has been declared for the downtown and Hilltop Campus areas of Davenport following an early-March snowfall.

A second snow emergency has been declared for the downtown and Hilltop Campus areas of Davenport following an early-March snowfall.

The snow emergency was set to begin at 9 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014 and expire at 6 a.m. Monday. Parking on Posted Snow Routes is not allowed during this time.

The area impacted in the second snow emergency spans from Marqette to River Drive, between 2nd and 5th Streets as well as Locust to 5th Street.

Vehicles that are parked on Posted Snow Routes may be ticketed or towed. Residents are asked to park in their driveways, garages, or on a nearby street that is not a marked Snow Route.

The City of Davenport offers free parking in any of the three parking ramps downtown or in the lot on 15th and Ripley in the Hilltop Campus area.

Odd-even parking will be encouraged while snow is on the ground. On odd-numbered days of the month, drivers should park on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses. On Even-numbered days of the month, drivers should park on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses.
