Bettendorf native and Assumption High School graduate Tim Stopulos is headed north of the border as legendary band Chicago's new opening act.

The high-profile tour marks a bit of a change to his typical performance schedule the past few years marked by hundreds of shows in venues big and small.

"There are three to four weeks where I get maybe a night off... maybe," Stopulos told News 8 Friday night. "It's a grind, but it's a pleasure to do and I wouldn't have it any other way."

Joining the band for the entire Canadian leg of their tour, Stopulos, who goes by Tim Stop professionally, actually met the band over the summer when he opened for them at the iWireless Center.

"That was the first show we did with them and kind of cool to do it in [my] hometown" Stopulos said. "It went well and they've invited me on for a bunch of shows since then, and now going into Canada..."
