A local team is on a roll, as the Quad City Rollers, the Quad Cities Area all-female roller derby team, gets set to kick off their eighth season on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the RiverCenter in Davenport.

The team is divided into two teams, the Mississippi Massacre and the All-Stars. The Mississippi Massacre play at 6:00 p.m. against the MedCity Mafia from Rochester, Minnesota and the All-Star team plays at 7:45 p.m. against the Harbor City Roller Dames from Twin Port/Northern Minnesota.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, the team, made up of 37 women, practiced at the Eldridge Community Center and Skatepark.

“All different natures, all different, we get along, ya know it's a big happy family, a big happy family on wheels,” said Connie Hart or Diamond Dust.

The team practices three times a week. All of the business aspects of the team are also managed by the skaters.
