The city of Davenport has reimbursed more than 40 cars that were towed during the snowstorm of February 1st, 2014.

The cars were parked on posted snow routes during a snow emergency that day. The snow blanketed the downtown area, and the city snow plows had trouble getting around the cars on the side of the street. Due to that, the city had more than 40 cars towed that were parked downtown on those posted snow routes.

Since then though, Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba has asked that those people be reimbursed for their expenses. That has cost the city an extra $10,000. Davenport Alderman Bill Boom says it's tough to decide whether those people should have been reimbursed.

Boom says the city could move toward LED lighted signs that would tell people when a snow emergency is in effect. Leaders could talk about this at the council meeting Wednesday, February 12th, 2014. That meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at Davenport City Hall.
