Water main breaks block traffic on East Locust and on N. Brady

Repair crews blocked lanes on two major thoroughfares in Davenport because of water main breaks.

Repair crews blocked lanes on two major thoroughfares in Davenport because of water main breaks.

The far right lane of North Brady Street was blocked near the Davenport Industrial Park as crews fix the road after a water main break was repaired there.  A spokesperson for the City of Davenport said that lane closure could last until January 31.

Crews have blocked two lanes of traffic on East Locust Street after a water main break in Davenport.

The break was reported Tuesday afternoon, January 28, 2014 near the intersection of Locust and Pineacre, across from Duck Creek Golf Course.

A spokesperson for Iowa American Water said repair crews would block the eastbound lanes of Locust, and that traffic would be reduced to one lane for each direction of travel using the westbound lanes.  The lane reduction was on East Locust between Marlo and Pineacre near Duck Creek Park.

Repairs were expected to continue through Tuesday evening.  It was not yet clear how long repairs would last.   Motorists were advised to find an alternate route to avoid delays.

The spokesperson said no customers were without water.
