Investigators search for black SUV from Henry Co. hit-and-run

Henry County investigators say they’re searching for a black SUV, possibly driven by a woman, that was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

Authorities hope someone can help them solve a hit and run crash that happened in Henry County.

According to Henry County Crime Stoppers, officers are trying to locate a black SUV that was reportedly involved in a hit and run crash near the intersection of Wolf Road and Stagecoach Road in Geneseo.

Officials say the crash happened around noon on December 29, 2013. An SUV that looks similar to a Chevy Trailblazer turned onto Wolf Road in front of the victim’s vehicle. The victim said their car collided with the SUV’s passenger side, causing it to go into the ditch.

The SUV then reportedly backed up, knocked over a road sign and drove away southbound on Stagecoach Road.

The Crime Stoppers reported that the victim believes the SUV driver was female.

Authorities say the SUV should have damage to the passenger side, and the back window was also broken out. It is believed that the vehicle may have a connection to the Quad Cities area.
