A Galva, Illinois man died after the car he was driving collided head-on with a pickup truck.
Police said 57-year-old Robert Shelley was in a 1992 Toyota eastbound on Route 34 when his car crossed over the center line about a mile west of Galva. The car collided head-on with a westbound 2011 Chevy Silverado pickup truck just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2013.
Shelley was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Kewanee where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the pickup, a 42-year-old man from Victoria, Illinois, and two of his passengers declined medical treatment at the crash scene.
