Iowa Bacon Festival tickets sell out in under 1 hour

The Midwest must be full of bacon-fans, the annual Blue Ribbon Baconfest in Des Moines reportedly sold out in less than an hour.

According to a report by WHO, tickets for the festival went on sale shortly after noon on Thursday, December 12, 2013 and sold out within 42 minutes.

To compensate for the high demand, organizers planned the bacon-tasting event in a larger venue, allowing them to offer 12,000 tickets. It will be held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Tickets were reportedly purchased in 41 states, Brazil, and China.

The 2014 event theme is Viva Las Bacon. WHO reported that some couples have made plans to wed in the Chapel ‘O Bacon during the festival.
