Yates City bar burglarized

Police said two men who were already jailed on unrelated charges are also suspected of breaking into My Place Bar in Yates City, Illinois.

Police said two men who were already jailed on unrelated charges are also suspected of breaking into My Place Bar in Yates City, Illinois.

Police say the burglary happened at the bar, at 107 S. Union Street, in the early-morning hours of Sunday, October 20, 2013.

Cash, cigarettes and the cash register were taken.

Investigators later charged Michael J.L. Hembree, 24 and James Butts, 36, both of Canton, Illinois with burglary and with theft over $500.  Both men were charged November 13, 2013.

Both men were also already jailed for charges unrelated to the Yates City burglary.  Hembree was held in the McDonough County Jail and Butts was held in Peoria.
