To help with the relief efforts for victims of the tornado in Washington, Illinois the American Red Cross held a drive in Annawan, Illinois.

On Saturday, November 23, 2013 a Red Cross Donation Drive was organized, primarily accepting monetary donations, but they accepted bottled water, dust masks, work gloves, and other supplies.

Kathy Overton, a Red Cross volunteer said they planned to collect items and deliver them to the tornado victims as they request them.

“They are practically our neighbors,” Overton said. “This is tornado alley; it just as easily could have been us.”

The drive was organized with no particular goal in mind, just to help out a fellow person.

“We’re a small community but we have a big heart,” Overton said.
