Festival of Trees 2013 set-up in Davenport

It takes 3,500 volunteers to stage the annual Festival of Trees.

Crews have been preparing for the annual Festival of Trees.

The annual fundraiser benefits Quad City Arts, and it takes 3,500 volunteers to put on. The fundraiser has a $2.5 million impact on the local economy, according to the Festival of Trees event page. Over a 26-year period the event has raised over $4 million for local arts.

The Festival of Trees tree competition brings in dozens of trees from the Quad City area. Designers show off their trees at the River Center in downtown Davenport. Organizers will auction off the trees at the end of the 10 day event.

The weekend events begin Saturday with the Festival of Trees Parade and run through Sunday, December 1. General admission tickets cost $8 for adults and $3 for children.
